Fondazione Milan Celebrates World Refugee Day Through the Unifying Power of Sports
Milan, June 20, 2026
On World Refugee Day, Fondazione Milan renews its commitment with a concrete gesture filled with smiles, energy, and new possibilities. Because sports, even before being a competition, is about coming together, it is a home, and it is a language that unites us.
In recent days, at the PUMA House of Football, the field has become much more than just a place to play: it has become a place where the kids in PlayMore’s United project—part of the Sport for Change program—have been able to feel like they’re part of something. Running together, passing the ball, cheering each other on: small gestures that build trust, friendship, and a future.
This experience was made possible in part thanks to the support of Emirates, in partnership with Fondazione Milan.
During the two-hour practice, we didn’t just play a game—we shared an idea: that everyone deserves a space where they feel welcomed, valued, and free to express themselves. Amid laughter, hard work, and camaraderie, there was a strong sense of belonging—the kind that transforms a group into a team, and a team into a community.
It is precisely in moments like these that true value is born: from collaboration, mutual trust, and the desire to build more inclusive and safer environments, where every young person can rediscover their potential and imagine a different tomorrow.
Because sometimes all it takes is a ball, a field, and someone who believes in you to change everything.
