Over 300 free and accessible sports, creative and workshop activities across the city. Through December, parkour, baskin, skateboarding, basketball, street culture and creative labs in 60 parks, squares and public spaces. Fuori Campo is part of the Olympic legacy and experiments with a new model of sports activation through collaboration between public institutions, the social sector and private partners.
Milan, 26 February 2026 – More than 300 free and accessible sports events spread across Milan’s squares and parks from February to December 2026. This is the formula behind Fuori Campo, the new public-space sports activation program promoted by the Department of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policies of the Municipality of Milan together with Fondazione di Comunità Milano, with contributions from Fondazione Fiera Milano, Fondazione EOS – Edison Orizzonte Sociale, Fondazione Mazzola, Fondazione Milan and Chiomenti.
Dedicated to teenagers and young people, with particular attention to those experiencing social and cultural vulnerability, Fuori Campo is delivered by 18 local organizations coordinated by Sanga Milano. Together they have created a nine-month program that is free and accessible.
Skateboarding, basketball, football, parkour, break dance, baskin (inclusive basketball played together by people with and without disabilities), art workshops and street education activities will rotate between Parco Trotter and the Corvetto basketball courts, Parco Ponte Lambro and Piazza Selinunte in San Siro, Parco Quarto Oggiaro and the courtyards of the housing complexes on Via Consolini in Gallaratese just to name a few of the 60 locations hosting the program.

Experienced instructors, trainers and youth workers will guide young people who want to get involved – even for the first time – on a path of active learning and self-discovery through sport, artistic practice and shared time and space with peers. Fuori Campo also serves as a testing ground where partners can exchange ideas and launch joint reflections on the importance of adopting Child Safeguarding policies to protect the wellbeing of young people in sports settings, starting precisely from the activities developed within the project. This reflection builds naturally on initiatives already undertaken by various organizations in their respective fields.
Fuori Campo is also part of the Olympic legacy of the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Games, through which sport becomes a tool for social and educational renewal. Even after the Olympics and Paralympics conclude, Fuori Campo will allow values such as excellence, respect and friendship to continue spreading throughout the city, creating a widespread, lasting and accessible sports culture.
The presentation of Fuori Campo, held today at Palazzo Marino, featured contributions from Martina Riva, Councillor for Sport, Tourism and Youth Policies of the Municipality of Milan; Carlo Marchetti, President of Fondazione di Comunità Milano; Francesca Magliulo, Director of Fondazione EOS – Edison Orizzonte Sociale; Carlo Mazzola, President of Fondazione Mazzola; Rocco Giorgianni, Secretary General of Fondazione Milan; Gregorio Consoli, Managing Partner at Chiomenti; Raffaele Izzo, Head of Partnerships and Head of HUB Spazio InDifesa Terre des Hommes Italia; Christian Zavagli, Project Manager for UILDM | Italian Union for the Fight Against Muscular Dystrophy Milan; Pietro Bersani and Giovanni Romano, Co-Founders of Flow District; Elisa Rota, Co-Founder of Alchemilla; and Franz Pinotti, Founder of Sanga Milano.

Alongside the Municipality of Milan, which strongly backed the project, Fondazione di Comunità Milano acts as co-promoter and funder together with Fondazione Fiera Milano, Fondazione EOS – Edison Orizzonte Sociale, Fondazione Mazzola, Fondazione Milan and Chiomenti, pooling private financial resources to develop a new model of sports activation in public spaces.
Fuori Campo activities are designed and implemented by Sanga Milano, the lead organization of the network, together with ACEA ODV Alternative Culturali Etiche e Ambientali; Alchemilla Coop Soc; Altropallone ASD APS; Associazione T12 Lab; Canottieri Milano; Comunità Nuova; Coop Tre Effe; Corvetto Street Basket Academy; Dynamo Camp; Ecoskate; Flow District; La Lanterna ODV; Parkour Monkeys ASD; Progetto Integrazione Cooperativa Sociale Onlus; Slums Dunk; Terre Des Hommes; UILDM | Italian Union for the Fight Against Muscular Dystrophy Milan.

“Fuori Campo stems from a very simple conviction: sport should not wait for young people to enter sports facilities it should go into the neighborhoods. With this project we are experimenting with a new model in which public space becomes educational infrastructure. Squares and parks are not just transit areas, but places of growth and relationships. For us, this is the true legacy of Milan Cortina 2026: not only new facilities, but a different culture. A city where sport is part of everyday life, accessible to everyone, especially those at risk of being left behind. Fuori Campo shows that when institutions, foundations and the third sector work together, Milan can build structural projects, not one-off initiatives. And this is the model we want to strengthen even beyond 2026,” said Martina Riva, Councillor for Sport, Tourism and Youth Policies of the Municipality of Milan.
“If philanthropy wants to act as a driver of improvement for communities, it must become increasingly effective. Collaborative philanthropy moves in this direction a model that brings together different donors to amplify impact through shared resources and expertise. Fuori Campo is an emblematic example of this approach. Our organizations have diverse histories and operate in different sectors, but we all believe in sport as a social practice capable of bringing people together and breaking down physical, cultural and economic barriers. Ensuring young people have fair and open access to sport is the goal of Fuori Campo. We hope it will become a benchmark model for public-space activation projects across Italy,” jointly stated Fondazione di Comunità Milano, Fondazione Fiera Milano, Fondazione EOS – Edison Orizzonte Sociale, Fondazione Mazzola, Fondazione Milan and Chiomenti.
“Since 2003, Fondazione Milan has been committed to promoting a sporting culture capable of generating a concrete and long-term impact on the lives of over 200,000 beneficiaries. With Fuori Campo, we join forces with organizations that share this same goal, leveraging the values of sport to strengthen belonging and social cohesion, while preventing isolation and vulnerability. A form of sport that focuses on the physical and mental wellbeing of young people and communities this is the legacy we want to leave to our city, host of the Olympic and Paralympic Games,” added Rocco Giorgianni, Secretary General of Fondazione Milan.
“It is now finally well established that sport is an extraordinary tool for reaching the hearts of young people quickly. That sports associations are no longer mere providers of entertainment, but permanent centers of community gathering and promoters of education through relationships and exchange welcoming adolescents and young people by engaging them in squares, streets, on walls and on courts… this is the great innovation. Milanese excellence wants to share its values by opening itself to encounter, addressing needs where they arise. If you cannot, or do not want to, come to us, we will come to you offering tools and excellence that, starting from respect, become the foundation of long-lasting friendships,” said Franz Pinotti, Founder of Sanga Milano.
