Fondazione Milan supports Stefano Borgonovo Foundation

Fondazione Milan and Fondazione Stefano Borgonovo join forces once again in the fight against SLA (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) through the "Hospital at your home" project.

IL PROGETTO

The aim is to provide patients with comprehensive, multidisciplinary care at all stages of the disease, guaranteeing its follow-up. In order to meet all possible patient needs, a vehicle has been designed that is adequately equipped with medical diagnostic instruments, some of which are fixed on the vehicle, while others are mobile for those who are unable to travel. For 2011, it was also decided to renew two scholarships at the Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Maggiore della Carità in Novara for a doctor specialising in dietetics, who will monitor the nutritional status of patients, and for a doctor from the neurology clinic, who will organise a network of continuity of care for patients in the Novara area, from the multidisciplinary day-hospital to their homes.
The 2011 event saw the Fondazione Milan organise a special tournament “Tutti in campo per Stefano Borgonovo – adidas Cup”, on various pitches in the Lombardy region. It started from San Siro, where Clarence Seedorf and the Rossoneri coach Massimiliano Allegri played the leading role on the pitch but above all to underline their closeness to SLA sufferers. Brescia was the second stage, followed by Como, where the project’s partner teams reached the final stages of the tournament, then played in Giussano, right near Stefano Borgonovo’s home. The former footballer was in fact present on the Giussano field together with his wife Chantal, to greet his former teammates and watch the finals. Winner of the Stame Synthesized tournament.
