Sport is a key tool for offering new opportunities to young female students

THE PROJECT

Also for 2022-2023, the partnership between Fondazione Milan and Fondazione Italia Uganda continues in Kampala, at the Bishop Cyprian Kihangire school. The upcoming season will feature the young female students of the Primary section and their passion for football. For girls too, sport is a fundamental tool to offer new opportunities for growth and life, taking them away from violence, child labour and the vicissitudes of the streets.

The initiative, which uses sport as a tool for social change, aims to form a Girl Football Academy at Bishop Cyprian Kihangire Primary School, attended by young female students who are passionate about football.

THE PURPOSES

In this project, a girls’ football team will be formed in primary schools so that girls can gain greater autonomy and develop their physical, mental, and social capabilities more rapidly.

By investing in this target group, young girls can be empowered and empowered from an early age, promoting fundamental values such as self-confidence, self-esteem, resilience, competitiveness, and equality.

Financial support will also enable the purchase of sports equipment for the girls, which is necessary for training and activities.

THE BENEFICIARIES

44 young female students between the ages of 7 and 15, who attend Bishop Cyprian Kihangire Primary School.

The initiative can have a positive ripple effect on a number of beneficiaries, such as the school, families, and the community as a whole.
