Jhilly’s Joy! – Sport for Change

Rediscovering oneself through sport

The Asha Bhavan Center aims to provide assistance to underprivileged children living in the outskirts of Kolkata. In addition to providing shelter and food, the center also endeavors to offer them quality education and adequate healthcare to ensure a better future for them.

The Sport for Change program of the Fondazione Milan has enabled many boys and girls from the center, like Jhilly, to have access to sports activities and benefit from all the opportunities that they can offer, not only from a physical perspective but also from a social and psychological point of view.

Jhilly is a 12-year-old girl with some intellectual difficulties, but despite this, she has shown great enthusiasm in sports, especially in football, a sport in which she is improving every day under the guidance of a dedicated coach. In addition to football, Jhilly has also shown interest in other activities, such as dance and karate, thanks to the teachers at the center who are always there to provide their support and guidance. Jhilly is learning to express her creativity in dance performances with the group, practicing the skills she learns at the center.

The work of the Asha Bhavan Center and the support of the Fondazione Milan represent a concrete example of how support and dedication can make a difference in the lives of many young people and children in need.
