Bishop Cipriano Kihangire – Kampala

Sport as a Fundamental Tool to Provide New Opportunities for Young Female Students

THE PROJECT

For the 2023-2024 period, the partnership between Fondazione Milan and Fondazione Italia Uganda in Kampala continues at the Bishop Cipriano Kihangire schools. The new season will once again feature male and female students from the Primary and Secondary sections showcasing their passion for soccer. For all these young people, sport is a fundamental tool to provide new opportunities for growth and life, steering them away from violence, child labor, and the hardships of the streets.

THE PURPOSE

The project aims to strengthen the male and female soccer teams of the primary and secondary schools, allowing the children to further enhance their autonomy and rapidly develop physical, mental, and social skills.

Investing in this target group allows for the empowerment and responsibility of young people from an early age through soccer, promoting fundamental values such as self-confidence, self-esteem, resilience, competitiveness, and equality.

The financial support will also enable the purchase of sports equipment for the athletes, necessary for training and activities.

BENEFICIARIES

120 boys and girls from the Primary section and 60 boys and girls from the Secondary section.

The initiative can have a positive ripple effect on a range of beneficiaries who will indirectly benefit from it, such as the school, families, and the community.
