A very special day was organised for the closing of the season of Fondazione Milan's program at "Playmore!"
Football, beach volleyball, basketball, athletics, gym, are the sports that many children and able-bodied and disabled youngsters practiced thanks to Sport For All, Fondazione Milan's program barrier-free sports.
Several sports tournaments were organized to celebrate the closing of 2017/2018 season, Saturday June 9, at "Playmore!" in via Moscova in Milan and they involved the partner associations of Rossoneri’s non-profit program and about 200 boys and girls to tell "on the pitch" the success of the activities and to inaugurate the 2018 edition of the Special Soccer Camps.
Fondazione Milan carried out many projects within the Sport for All program. The goal is to promote and support all initiatives that allow children, young people and young adults with disabilities to play, have fun and share the passion for a sport with their able-bodied peers.
"Among the most beautiful and deep values that sport can convey there are inclusion, respect for others, collaboration - said Barbara Berlusconi, president of Fondazione Milan - allowing everyone to practice a sport is a fundamental element in their growth. Also this season of Sport for All was particularly intense and wish I thank all the partners with whom we collaborated".
During such a special morning at "Playmore!" everyone could try their hand at integrated football tournaments, integrated beach volleyball, integrated basketball and wheelchair basketball. They were also able to compete in a run challenge, an archery challenge and they had fun dancing and training with a Zumba class. There were also some novelties: there was the possibility to try baseball for the visually impaired and to experience the thrill of being a gymnast during rhythmic gymnastics’ trials. Because sport is for everyone and belongs to everyone.
The many associations with which Milan Foundation collaborated during this season of Sport for All are: Briantea, Bresso 4, Fraternità e Amicizia, Istituto dei Tumori, Fondazione Don Gnocchi, Enjoy, Cascina Biblioteca, Lighea, Federazione Baseball per ciechi, Ausonia Vimercate, "PlayMore!", Sporting 4E, Runchallenge, Minerva.
The special day was also an opportunity to present the sixth edition of the Special Soccer Camps, the special sports holidays that include children with intellectual-relational disabilities within AC Milan Junior Camps, to test, alongside their able-bodied peers, a new vision of sport and abilities. 2018 Special Soccer Camps will take place between June and July in Milan Cimiano (in collaboration with Progetto Aita), Cernusco Sul Naviglio (in collaboration with Istituto dei Tumori), Cantù (in collaboration with Briantea84), Braccagni (in collaboration with Blue Soccer Grosseto), San Martino al Cimino (in collaboration with Progetto Aita) and Cagliari (in collaboration with Fare Contatto).
The season will start in September, with plenty of sporting activities on offer
