MILAN – The players and staff held their Christmas party yesterday in the regal surroundings of the Royal pavilion in Central Station yesterday.

Milan chose Central Station for the event for two reasons. Inside the station on Friday 16 December, the Caritas Refuge will be opened, a night time hostel for the homeless of Milan which will offer not only a roof for the night, but also the chance for a new start.
The Milan Foundation has contributed to this project to help the less well off, offering a place to sleep and maybe even a point from where they can start again. The club’s charity arm has helped with the restructuring of the refuge but there’s still a long way to go. The fans can do their part as well by buying a Christmas cake for €3 at Milan Siena on Saturday evening.

The Rossoneri club isn’t happy with only lending a hand to the social strife of Milan, but also to add to the artistic patrimony that belongs to all of Milan’s citizens. A piece of trivia that not all fans may be aware of; Ulisse Stacchini, the architect of Milan’s central station, was also the man behind the construction of the San Siro stadium.
